International mobility is one of the most valuable experiences for students, VET learners, recent graduates and young people preparing to enter the labour market. However, its value no longer lies only in studying, training or completing a traineeship in another country. Today, truly meaningful mobility must become a real opportunity to develop competences, improve employability and support the transition into employment.

In an increasingly diverse, multicultural and interconnected Europe, companies need profiles capable of working in international environments, adapting to new workplace cultures and communicating effectively with teams and organisations from different countries. Mobility experiences directly contribute to the development of key competences such as autonomy, initiative, intercultural communication, problem-solving, flexibility, responsibility and adaptability.

Nevertheless, many young people still face difficulties in accessing international opportunities that are safe, transparent and aligned with their professional profile. In many cases, they have the training, motivation and interest to gain experience abroad, but lack sufficient guidance, reliable contacts or appropriate tools to connect with European companies. At the same time, many companies are looking for international talent, but do not always have effective mechanisms to identify candidates prepared to work in multicultural contexts.

In this context, the CAMP project – Cooperation model towards better transition from education to labour market – offers a practical response to one of today’s key challenges: strengthening the link between education, vocational training and the labour market. The project works to facilitate the connection between students, educational institutions, career guidance offices and employers, promoting a more effective transition from learning to professional integration.

One of CAMP’s main actions is the development of an international matching platform, designed to connect students and people looking for traineeships with European companies interested in hosting international talent. This tool will help move towards safer, more structured and more transparent mobility, where opportunities are better aligned with participants’ competences and with the real needs of companies.

In addition, CAMP strengthens the practical dimension of mobility through employability-oriented activities such as job interview simulations, e-portfolio development workshops, career guidance, direct contact with employers and resources on workplace culture and international business etiquette. In this way, mobility is no longer an isolated experience, but becomes part of a stronger, more conscious professional pathway connected to the European labour market.

Talking about meaningful international mobility means talking about quality, guidance, inclusion and employability. It means ensuring that experiences abroad not only broaden personal and cultural horizons, but also generate concrete opportunities for learning, professional growth and job placement.

Through digital tools, training resources and cooperation between educational institutions and companies, CAMP contributes to building a more inclusive, practical and future-oriented European mobility model. A model in which learning in another country also means moving closer to employment, strengthening professional profiles and actively participating in a more open, diverse and connected European labour market.
